...while wearing my lakeside-OV t-shirt!

Just a quick heads up. Chris, while wearing his lakeside-orangevale t-shirt, will be giving the message in all the Gatherings this weekend -- May 31/June 1.

Highlighting Jesus' conversation at the well with the Samaritan woman (John 4), we will be looking at how we can get into (and enjoy) spiritual-level conversations with people.

Hope to see you there!

Monthly O'Vale Gathering Rocks!

The second official Lakeside-Orangevale (affectionately known as O'vale to us insiders, okay, maybe just to me) Campus gathering took place yesterday at the Block. Our incredibly talented worship band, led by Stephen Shirley, taught us a few new songs - complete with stunning a few newcomers by playing his electric guitar with a bow! Jim Price's message was powerful as he focused on John the Baptist's tragic end to a life well-lived -- his doubts as he faced death, and his legacy. I'm actually loving watching our speaker on the big screen -- up close and personal! I also really like the intimacy of a smaller group gathering -- and we've got a great core group of people serving to make it all happen. Hope you'll join us for the one next month on June 15th! celebrating our pow wow team

The theme of Pow Wow Days this year?

How about "Hot as ___!" (You fill in the blank)

Despite the inside-of-a-pizza-oven feel, we had a number of lakeside-orangevale teammates, as well as, some family, friends and lakeside-folsom Kidsfest staff (Juli, Diane, Stephanie and Brittnay) who braved the heat to meet and serve and bless our neighbors in Orangevale.
You never know, maybe our free water saved a life or two.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in. It's the beginning of establishing our place and identity in Orangevale and the surrounding community.

pray time.

Stephen, our friend and worship arts leader, needs us to get on our knees and do some battle for him. Battling lymphoma, on Wednesday he had surgery to install a port. Then on Thursday, started chemotherapy. It's time to be community to Stephen and his wife, Rosemary. They will also need other forms of support as the time goes on, so stay tuned.
